Well folks, we climbed to the top and enjoyed the thrill, Hands held high.....Now we are going down the other side! We were so happy with the last report, but since then Dad has had the hiccups, and has continued to get very weak and very confused/disoriented. This is day 10 of the hiccups, and they are not letting up at all. We have been giving him the medication that usually gets rid of them, at the cost of making Dad crazy......They are not even phasing them. Once we realized the medicine was not working, we stopped the meds, but the craziness did not go away. Mom called MDA yesterday and they said he needed to be evaluated. Mom loaded up and headed this way. We got in an ER room around 7 last night. They have done a lot of blood work and a CAT scan to rule out bleeding in the brain- that is a possible side effect of the Chemo. We were relieved to hear there was no bleeding. They moved him to ICU overnight to monitor his breathing. He seems to be having trouble with controlling his breathing and swallowing. He is still in ICU. We are waiting on an MRI to give us a better picture of what is going on. That is suppose to happen today. ....Keep your fingers crossed!!
There is speculation that all of these symptoms are being caused from the tumor effecting the brain stem. That has not been confirmed, but is a high possibility.
Please pray......We Believe!
