Hey Gang-
Doctor Loghin's nurse just came in and said there has been NO change in the tumor!! While that is GREAT news, we are so puzzled as to what is going on! The nurse explained that the neurological changes we have seen could all be caused from an infection, and/or from Dad being in the hospital bed day in and day out. We are going to get him up today, and try to get him out of this slump. We also asked if maybe he had had another stroke, the MRI or CT scan did not show any sign of a stroke. He is still running a fever, and they cannot figure out why. They have tested his urine, blood, stool, done chest X rays and everything is coming back normal. The infectious disease doctors are coming in to evaluate him. No sign of going home until we figure out what is causing the fever. Chemo is also on hold.
Dad is mentally and physically worn out-And rightly so. Please pray for him to get that "spark" back. We have to continue to encourage him to fight this cancer! It has been a long, hard battle for him and he needs us to lift him up to the throne! Your prayers are are the key! It has been so hard for mom and I to keep him comfortable and happy. The other night he got annoyed with me for asking him so many questions, so I just just beside him and prayed that God would wrap His arms around him and comfort him in a way the only He could. That is after I almost choked/drowned him to death from a mishap with his C-Pac machine-That is a story for another post!!) poor Dad is all I can say!!! After I did that his only question in a pitiful voice was, "Where is your mother?"
Thank you for your comments and concern for Mom and me. We are holding up good, we have been switching off to make sure we both get rest. Each day looks a little easier to handle when you are rested :) Jason is coming over to stay with him tonight, and then tomorrow we will all be here to help him celebrate his 59th birthday! If you would like to send him a birthday wish I will make sure he gets it!
