Day pass and Chemo

As I type this Dad is in HIS bed taking a nap! We got a day pass and we were able to bring him home today. We have to take him back by 8:00 tonight. He was so glad to come home, if only he could stay!! One more week of therapy and then hopefully we can bring him home for good. We also started Chemo last night. So far, Dad is doing ok with that. He is a little sick to his stomach, but not to bad. Please pray that he will continue to do well with this treatment and that it will do a number on this tumor!!

Please continue to pray for his spirits, he has been a little down lately. Still not complaining, but a little more down than he has been. As we all know, it has been a long few months for him. If we can just get through this week with no more setbacks, I think he will be doing much better!

As always, thank you for your continued support and prayers. As we prepare to bring Dad home, their will be a lot of adjustments. I know he will be so happy to be home, but the reality of a new "normal" will begin to set in and that will be a hard pill to swallow. It breaks my heart to see him so weak. The Lord's plan is often hard for us to understand, but we have to remember that the Lord has a plan bigger than we can see.

My thoughts are not your thoughts.
My ways are not your ways.
For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
so are My thoughts higher than your thoughts,
My ways higher than your ways.
Isaiah 55:8-9

As we begin to make this adjustment, please pray for our family as we strive to look to the Lord to guide our path.

Trust the Lord with all of our hearts,
and lean not on our own understanding;
In all of our ways acknowledge Him and He will
direct our paths.
Proverbs 3:5-6

I am so glad Gene got to come home even for just the day!!! I know he feels good in his own bed!!! As we get older and set in our ways it is hard to accept different surroundings. We will continue to keep all of you in our thoughts and prayers. LOL, Margaret & Robert.

I hear that Ginger cooked a nice meal for Gene's big day at home. Sounds like all enjoyed themselves. Know that we are with you all in spirit when we cannot be in person. We love you all.
